Travel Pharmacist - Rifle, Colorado

A travel opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist to support a hospital undergoing an EMR conversion from Meditech to Epic. The assignment begins mid-March and extends approximately 20 weeks, with flexibility to adjust the end date based on your start. This role offers a dynamic work schedule on rotating shifts that ensure work-life balance.

Location:

• Rifle, CO

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Rotating day and evening shifts starting at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Monday through Friday
• Rotating weekends from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense medication orders as prescribed by physicians, maintaining accurate computerized patient medication profiles
• Compound and dispense a variety of pharmaceuticals including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations managing controlled substances appropriately
• Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriate dosing
• Review culture and sensitivity data to recommend antibiotic use changes
• Provide clinical consultation and educate medical staff, patients, and families on medication therapy
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medication review activities
• Act as a member of the Code Response Team, contributing to patient care emergencies

Required Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing
• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree
• Extensive experience with Epic; Meditech knowledge a plus
• Certification in BLS and ACLS by the American Heart Association
• Compliance with flu vaccination requirement (October 1 – April 1, no exemptions)
