Travel Pharmacist - Rifle, CO

A travel Pharmacist position is available in Rifle, CO, commencing on March 17 for a 20-week assignment that may be adjusted to accommodate scheduling needs. This role offers a rotating shift schedule, including 40 hours per week starting at either 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The assignment involves providing pharmaceutical care while the facility transitions its electronic medical records from Meditech to Epic, with a strong preference for candidates experienced with Epic systems. Meditech training is advantageous.

Key responsibilities include preparing and dispensing medication orders, maintaining medication inventory in patient care areas, and ensuring the safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of therapies per established protocols. The role requires interpreting and transcribing medication orders, compounding pharmaceuticals including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition, and compliance with all regulations regarding controlled substances. The pharmacist will monitor drug therapy for contraindications and interactions, perform pharmacokinetic dosing, review culture and sensitivity results for antibiotic appropriateness, and provide clinical consultation to medical staff. Additional duties include documentation of clinical activities, participating in quality improvement, providing education to staff, and serving on the Code Response Team.

Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing
• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
• Certification in BLS and ACLS by the American Heart Association
• Flu vaccination mandatory during the specified season (October 1 – April 1)
• Must have experience with Epic; Meditech experience is a plus
