A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Manager to oversee the inpatient pharmacy department during a 13-week contract assignment. This role requires leadership and clinical expertise to ensure the safe, effective, and cost-conscious use of medications in alignment with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce pharmacy policies and procedures promoting appropriate medication use.
- Maintain a medical staff-approved formulary and supervise medication storage and preparation throughout the facility.
- Ensure adequate medication supply, security, and control, including controlled substances accountability.
- Lead pharmacy personnel by managing job descriptions, performance evaluations, staffing, and training.
- Support departmental quality improvement initiatives and participate in organizational committees.
- Assist in strategic planning to align pharmacy services with the broader organizational mission.
- Maintain up-to-date licensure and competencies; participate in management meetings.
- Assume Staff Pharmacist duties as needed.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited school is required.
- Current, active Colorado Pharmacy license in good standing.
- Proven leadership experience in pharmacy operations and clinical services.
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system is mandatory; experience with Meditech is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, clinical judgment, communication, and educational skills.
- American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Flu vaccination required with no exemptions accepted (valid October 1 – April 1).
Schedule:
- Full-time day shift, 40 hours per week
Location and Contract Details:
- Position is based in Rifle, Colorado.
- Must reside at least 75 miles away from the facility to qualify.
- Immediate start available with a 13-week duration.
