A healthcare facility in Rifle, CO is seeking a Pharmacist Manager to lead their inpatient pharmacy services on a 13-week contract. This role demands a seasoned professional to oversee safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapy management, while guiding pharmacy staff and maintaining regulatory compliance. The assignment requires the traveler’s permanent residence to be at least 75 miles from the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enforce policies promoting safe and economical medication use.
  • Maintain the medical staff-approved formulary and oversee medication storage and preparation.
  • Ensure adequate and secure medication supplies, including controlled substances.
  • Supervise pharmacy personnel, evaluate performance, and manage staffing schedules.
  • Support the educational growth of pharmacy staff and ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory policies.
  • Collaborate on strategic planning and quality improvement projects within the pharmacy.
  • Maintain pharmacy licensure and participate in management meetings.
  • Assume Staff Pharmacist duties as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • PharmD degree from an ACPE-accredited school.
  • Active Colorado Pharmacy license in good standing.
  • Demonstrated leadership in pharmacy operations and clinical services.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, clinical judgment, and excellent communication skills.
  • Certification in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.
  • Mandatory flu vaccination (no exemptions), valid October 1 through April 1.
  • Experience with Epic is required; Meditech knowledge is a plus due to ongoing EMR transition.

Schedule:

  • Day shift, 40 hours per week.
