Support patient care at a tribal clinic and hospital facility in San Carlos, Arizona, with an opportunity to serve as a pharmacist in two key roles. These full-time travel pharmacist positions offer a chance to contribute clinical expertise in a unique healthcare setting without requiring an Arizona pharmacist license.

Open positions:

  • Outpatient Clinic Pharmacist
  • Night Shift Emergency Department Pharmacist (requires clinical experience; willingness to obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications). This is a decentralized ED pharmacist role with close collaboration in emergency care services.

Location: San Carlos Peridot Hospital, San Carlos, AZ—a remote tribal healthcare facility offering meaningful impact in an underserved community.

Schedule:

  • Typically 10-hour shifts, generally from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Night shift available for ED role

Responsibilities:

  • Manage medication therapy within outpatient or emergency department settings
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Utilize proprietary RPMS electronic health record system, common in tribal and IHS hospitals (similar to VA’s VistA system)
  • Participate in patient counseling, medication reconciliation, and clinical interventions

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Active pharmacist license (any state license accepted)
  • Minimum 1+ year hospital experience or completion of residency preferred
  • Strong clinical skills, particularly for the ED role
  • Adaptability to a remote, tribal healthcare environment
  • Positive attitude and commitment to quality patient care
  • Willingness to obtain BLS/ACLS/PALS certification for the emergency department position

Housing: Inexpensive on-campus shared housing is available ($400/month). Accommodations include private bedrooms within three-person apartments featuring shared bath and kitchen facilities. Housing is non-coed.
