A tribal healthcare facility in Arizona is seeking two full-time travel pharmacists to support critical pharmacy services in a unique, community-focused setting. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work in a scenic region while gaining valuable experience in both outpatient and emergency department pharmacy roles.

Open Positions:

  • Pharmacist for the Outpatient Clinic
  • Night Shift Emergency Department Pharmacist: This role requires clinical experience and willingness to obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. This is a decentralized ED pharmacist position providing direct clinical support.

Location: San Carlos, Arizona – a beautiful and remote tribal hospital and clinic setting.

Schedule:

  • Typically 10-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Pharmacist license from any state (Arizona license not required due to tribal facility status)
  • Minimum 1 year of hospital experience or completion of a pharmacy residency strongly preferred
  • Clinical experience required for the ED pharmacist position
  • Willingness to work in a remote, tribal healthcare environment
  • Positive attitude and adaptability to a new community and IT systems
  • Willingness to obtain BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications for ED role

Technology:

  • Utilizes the RPMS system, a proprietary electronic health record platform common in many Indian Health Service (IHS) hospitals/clinics, similar to the VA’s VistA system

Housing:

  • Shared on-campus housing is available at approximately $400/month
  • Housing units accommodate three people with private bedrooms and shared bathroom/kitchen facilities (non-coed)
