A 4-week pharmacist contract position is available in San Diego, CA, with an immediate start. This role primarily covers second shift hours from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, including rotating weekends, providing patient-focused pharmaceutical care in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards.
  • Monitor patients’ medication adherence and detect over-usage patterns.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Counsel patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and answer medication-related questions.
  • Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription drugs including dosage, storage, and interactions.
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on usage of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address drug-related issues and optimize patient outcomes.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • California pharmacist license in-hand is required.
  • Experience in retail pharmacy is preferred; however, retail pharmacists with less experience will be considered and can be trained.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills essential for patient interaction and team supervision.
