A leading healthcare facility in San Francisco, CA is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Operations Supervisor on a contract basis to support their acute care hospital pharmacy team. This role requires strong leadership skills and expertise in pharmacy operations, with a focus on ensuring efficient workflow and compliance with regulatory standards.

Location: San Francisco, California
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 13 weeks or longer
Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shifts (no weekends)
EMR System: EPIC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring smooth workflow and effective scheduling
  • Lead and manage pharmacy staff, providing guidance and support on clinical and operational issues
  • Conduct policy review and ensure compliance with USP standards and hospital procedures
  • Facilitate and run meetings to discuss workflow improvements and team updates
  • Support training initiatives, including IV competencies for pharmacy staff
  • Utilize software tools including Excel, Word, BD suite (PK, Pyxis, C2 Safe) for inventory and reporting management
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and safety

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Licensure as a Pharmacist in the State of California is required
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Pharmacy preferred; Pharm.D. degree and/or completion of an ASHP accredited residency or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Minimum of two years of leadership experience within an acute care hospital pharmacy setting
  • Demonstrated skills in scheduling, managing workflow, detail-oriented work, and conducting productive meetings
  • Knowledge of USP standards and commitment to supporting compliance efforts
