A hospital-based pharmacist opportunity is available for an experienced professional to manage inpatient pharmaceutical care within a fast-paced healthcare setting. This contract role is based in Santa Cruz, CA, requiring a full-time commitment over a 13-week period with an ASAP start.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Five 8-hour shifts per week
  • Variable days and afternoons, including some weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inpatient order verification accurately and efficiently
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure workflow and safety standards
  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to consult on medication therapy and adjustments
  • Utilize Cerner electronic health records for documentation and medication management
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and pharmaceutical regulations

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Pharmacist License
  • Minimum of 1 year inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
  • Ability to work full-time with variable scheduling flexibility
  • Competent in staying within budget parameters while delivering quality care
