Join a specialized post-acute hospital pharmacy serving a 40-bed facility with an average daily census of 35 patients. This full-time pharmacist position requires holding the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) role, including Consultant of Record (COR) responsibilities, ensuring expert leadership and delivery of pharmacy services.

Location: Sarasota, FL

Schedule/Hours:

  • Pharmacy hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
  • Weekend, after-hours, and on-call coverage required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the sole full-time pharmacist and PIC, leading pharmacy operations and maintaining compliance
  • Provide direct patient care and oversight of pharmacy services in a post-acute specialty hospital setting
  • Manage pharmacist staffing and coordinate with a pharmacy technician
  • Supervise and support remote order entry service after hours and on weekends, serving as on-call backup
  • Oversee medication preparation and distribution, utilizing Wellsky pharmacy information system and Pyxis automation
  • Perform IV compounding within a segregated compounding area (non-chemotherapy)

Desired qualifications:

  • Active Florida Pharmacist license and Florida Consultant Pharmacist license (preferred)
  • Hospital pharmacy experience, ideally within a specialty or post-acute care environment
  • Proficiency with Wellsky system and Pyxis automation preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IV sterile compounding procedures in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Ability to start quickly and assume PIC responsibilities immediately
