Pharmacist - Schertz, Texas

This opportunity is for an experienced pharmacist supporting hospital pharmacy operations in Schertz, TX. The role involves delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care across rotating shifts, ensuring optimal medication use, and collaborating with the healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes. Location: Schertz, TX
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks+)

Schedule:

• Rotating shifts: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, and 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pharmaceutical care including reviewing and verifying medication orders
• Competently use EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication management
• Mix sterile compounds as needed, requiring IV certification
• Monitor and adjust pharmacokinetics to optimize drug therapy
• Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure safe and effective medication administration
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety protocols

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Texas pharmacist license
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• IV certification with sterile compounding capability
• Comfortable performing pharmacokinetic monitoring and adjustments
• Proficient in EPIC and Pyxis systems
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required—please submit BLS documentation with application
• Strong communication and clinical judgment skills
