Pharmacist | Shafter, California

A travel pharmacist opportunity is available at a 45-bed community hospital located near Bakersfield, CA. This role is a 13-week contract position requiring flexibility to travel and work varied schedules in a hospital setting using Cerner IT systems.

Location: Shafter, CA (near Bakersfield)
Schedule:

• 4 shifts per week, each 10 hours
• Variable days and afternoons
• Shift start times at 7:30 AM or 1:30 PM

Responsibilities:

• Safely prepare and dispense medications in an inpatient setting
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy
• Use Cerner electronic health record system for medication orders and documentation
• Monitor patient responses to medications and provide clinical recommendations
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements

Desired Qualifications:

• Current pharmacist license in California
• 2-3 years of inpatient pharmacy experience
• Ability to adapt to variable shift scheduling
• Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
• Proficient with electronic health records, ideally Cerner
