Pharmacist in Shafter, CA

An opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to support a 45-bed community hospital in Bakersfield, CA, offering a stimulating environment with a focus on inpatient care. This contract role is ideal for a licensed California pharmacist with solid experience in hospital pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Dispensing and verifying medications accurately in an inpatient setting.
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy.
• Utilizing Cerner electronic health record systems effectively.
• Managing inventory and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Providing medication counseling and support to clinical staff.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active California Pharmacist license.
• 2 to 3 years of inpatient or hospital pharmacy experience.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Proficiency with Cerner or similar pharmacy IT systems.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Schedule and Location:

• Based in Bakersfield, CA.
• 4 shifts per week, each 10 hours long.
• Variable schedules with shifts starting either at 7:30 AM or 1:30 PM.
• Immediate start.
• Duration of 13 weeks.
