Pharmacist in Shallowater, TX

A unique opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist to support a prominent children’s hospital in Shallowater, TX, with a 6-month contract assignment starting ASAP. This position offers specialized work in a pediatric inpatient setting, providing essential pharmacy services during the night shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and verify medication orders for pediatric inpatients.
• Utilize EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems efficiently.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe and accurate medication therapy.
• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards.
• Provide expert pharmaceutical care during night shifts, ensuring continuity of care.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid pharmacist license in Texas is required.
• Proven experience within inpatient pharmacy settings.
• Strong familiarity with EPIC electronic health record systems and Pyxis technology.
• Pediatric pharmacy experience is highly preferred due to the specialized patient population.
• Ability to work independently during overnight hours while delivering consistent quality care.

Schedule:

• Night shift: 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
• Rotation of 7 days on followed by 7 days off.
• Around July/August, the role will transition to a day shift to cover a pharmacist’s FMLA leave through mid-January 2027.
