Pharmacist - Shawnee, Kansas

Immediate opening for a Pharmacist/Pharmacy Manager at a rehabilitation hospital in Shawnee, KS. This contract position involves working in a well-established 48-bed facility with an average daily census of 45 patients. The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and this role requires holding Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) responsibilities while managing pharmacy staffing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
• Provide direct pharmacy staffing coverage for 40 hours per week.
• Oversee and coordinate with pharmacy technicians on shift.
• Manage weekend, after-hours, and on-call coverage in rotation with a team of six PRN pharmacists.
• Utilize the hospital pharmacy information system (Wellsky) and the Pyxis automation system.
• Perform IV compounding duties; chemotherapy compounding is not required.
• Collaborate closely with the pharmacy team to maintain efficient operations and quality patient care.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist with valid PIC credentials.
• Proven experience as a Pharmacist in Charge in a hospital or rehab setting.
• Strong knowledge of IV compounding techniques.
• Familiarity with Wellsky pharmacy information system and Pyxis automation preferred.
• Ability to manage and mentor pharmacy technicians effectively.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
