Pharmacist - Sherwood, AR

A premier 359-bed, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced pharmacist to join their dynamic inpatient pharmacy team. This hospital is recognized as one of the 10 largest pediatric medical providers in the United States and stands as the only pediatric medical center in Arkansas, featuring a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a progressive, passionate staff and state-of-the-art facilities.

Location: Sherwood, AR
Schedule:

• 8-hour day shifts
• Monday to Friday
• 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Compound and dispense medications accurately per physician orders
• Consult with medical staff on drug interactions, patient histories, and medication usage
• Educate patients on medication dosing and safety
• Maintain complete and compliant pharmacy records
• Verify dosing appropriateness based on pediatric-specific criteria such as weight and age
• Identify and intervene when drug therapy issues arise, including allergies or adverse reactions
• Evaluate non-formulary drug needs and suggest cost-effective therapies
• Ensure all medications meet quality and labeling standards
• Serve as a member of the patient care team to optimize therapeutic outcomes
• Participate in training and educational programs for staff and students
• Manage inventory control and coordinate medication orders and backorders efficiently

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Active Arkansas pharmacist license
• Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience
• IV medication experience or IV certification required
• Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred
• Strong knowledge of pediatric medication dosing and safety
