A travel opportunity is available for an experienced retail pharmacist to join a healthcare facility in Shickley, NE. This role supports the distribution and management of prescribed medications, ensuring quality pharmaceutical care aligned with professional standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense and prepare medications accurately, maintaining compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Advise healthcare providers on drug therapy, side effects, and appropriate dosing.
  • Monitor medication use, assessing therapeutic outcomes and patient compliance.
  • Oversee pharmacy operations, inventory control, and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintain communication with medical staff regarding drug usage and regulations.
  • Conduct patient education on medication use and participate in clinical rounds as needed.
  • Provide consulting services to long-term care facilities monthly.
  • Mentor pharmacy students and healthcare trainees.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards in line with HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution; PharmD preferred.
  • Licensed pharmacist with successful licensure examination as per NABP standards.
  • Minimum of three years retail pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Valid state pharmacy license is required.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Full-time daytime shifts in a smoke-free, climate-controlled setting.
  • Exposure to biohazards and hazardous drugs requires adherence to safety protocols, including annual respirator fitting.
  • Possible exposure to moderate noise levels and occasional unpleasant odors.

Additional Information: Housing in the area is limited; candidates are advised to research motel or hotel accommodations. On-call rooms are available on a limited basis upon request.
