Pharmacist - Slaton, Texas

This opportunity offers a 6-month contract position for a pharmacist at a children’s hospital, ideal for those with pediatric experience who hold a Texas pharmacy license. You will work primarily night shifts with a later transition to day shifts, providing critical pharmacy services in an inpatient setting.

Location: Slaton, TX
Schedule/Hours:

• Night shift: 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM, 7 days on/7 days off
• Transition to day shift (July/August) to cover FMLA through January 13, 2027

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and safely within a pediatric hospital setting
• Utilize EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapies for inpatients
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and pharmacy standards
• Monitor and manage medication inventories and documentation

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Current Texas pharmacist license required
• Experience with EPIC and Pyxis systems strongly preferred
• Inpatient pharmacy experience essential, pediatric experience highly valued
• Ability to work independent night shifts with dedication and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork skills within a fast-paced hospital environment
