A healthcare provider specializing in home infusion IV and infusion services seeks a PRN Staff Pharmacist to deliver clinical pharmacy support on a recurring basis. This role is based in Cambridge, MA, and offers the opportunity to work closely with patients managing acute and chronic medical conditions through infusion therapies.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and process physician orders; verify insurance benefits
  • Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations following USP 797 standards
  • Ensure safe dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies
  • Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
  • Manage assigned patient caseloads; provide coverage for other pharmacists as needed

Schedule:

  • Initial training of 4-8 days on the electronic medical records (EMR) system
  • Subsequently, 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
  • Additional PRN coverage as needed, including urgent coverage for July 6-10 and July 13-17, with additional dates through December
  • On-site shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Qualifications:

  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Minimum one year pharmacy experience; two or more years of clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Experience in infusion therapy and sterile compounding highly desirable
  • Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking abilities

This contract position offers flexibility with scheduling and a chance to contribute to specialized patient care in a home infusion setting.
