Provide expert clinical pharmacy support in an ambulatory infusion therapy clinic specializing in IV and infusion services for patients with acute and chronic medical needs. This PRN Staff Pharmacist role offers flexible, part-time hours with opportunities for ongoing coverage.

Location

  • Portland, ME

Schedule / Shift

  • Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
  • Additional PRN coverage as needed

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and process physician orders, verify insurance benefits accurately
  • Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations in compliance with standards
  • Ensure the safe dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies
  • Maintain precise patient and pharmacy records adhering to federal and state regulations
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain workflow and safety
  • Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide pharmacist coverage as required

Qualifications

  • Active Pharmacist License in Maine, in good standing
  • Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Required experience in infusion therapy and sterile compounding
  • In-depth knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking skills
