Pharmacist in Spotsylvania, VA

An opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to support inpatient pharmacy services at a 400-bed medical center located in Northern Virginia. This contract position offers a chance to contribute to a well-established healthcare environment utilizing advanced technologies such as EPIC and Pyxis.

Responsibilities include verifying medication orders to ensure accuracy and patient safety, supervising pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient workflow, and collaborating closely with physicians and nursing staff to provide clinical consultation. The role also involves managing pharmacokinetics and other clinical pharmacy functions to optimize patient care outcomes.

Schedule:

• Primarily 8-hour shifts
• Mainly 2nd shift hours on the contract assignment

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist with relevant inpatient experience
• Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations and clinical services
• Experience with pharmacy automation and health IT systems, specifically EPIC and Pyxis
• Strong communication skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians
