A Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)/Staff Pharmacist is needed for an 8-12 week contract assignment at a psychiatric facility located near Spring, TX. This role offers an opportunity to oversee pharmacy operations and provide direct pharmaceutical care in a 128-bed facility with an average daily census of 103 patients.
Location: Spring/Houston, TX area
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Possible weekend coverage 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM if per diem staff are unavailable
- On-call coverage required to address staffing gaps
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Texas Pharmacist license required
- Experience as a Pharmacist in Charge and/or Staff Pharmacist
- Familiarity with psychiatric pharmacy practice preferred
- Ability to manage staffing and coordinate pharmacy technicians
- Comfortable working with order entry systems; training on HCS provided
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing all pharmacy operations
- Manage and staff pharmacy shifts effectively, including coordination with technicians and PRN pharmacists
- Provide pharmaceutical care and medication management in a psychiatric setting
- Cover on-call needs as required to ensure continuous pharmacy support
- Adapt quickly to facility workflows and collaborate with clinical teams
