A specialized pharmacist position is available for overnight shifts at a Pavilion for Women site, focusing on pharmaceutical care management for patients ranging from newborns to adults. This role offers a 14-week contract opportunity beginning March 2nd, working a 7-on/7-off schedule from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The electronic medical record system in use is EPIC.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the medication process by reviewing patient diagnosis, weight, allergies, and potential drug interactions to ensure appropriate dosing.
  • Accurately enter medication orders into the computer system to prevent errors.
  • Verify that patients receive the correct medications and doses, maintaining thorough documentation to minimize dispensing errors.
  • Process medication orders and ensure timely delivery in alignment with established hospital guidelines.
  • Adhere strictly to aseptic technique and infection control protocols during the preparation of sterile products, and enforce these standards among pharmacy staff.
  • Maintain annual re-certification with a minimum score of 90% on aseptic technique and infection control assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years inpatient pharmacy experience, with a preference for pediatric experience.
  • Licensed pharmacist in Texas.
  • ACPE IV Certification required.
  • Proven ability to minimize medication errors and maintain high standards of patient safety.
  • Strong familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system.
