Pharmacist - Spring, TX

A 13-week temp-to-perm role is available for a Verification Pharmacist in Spring, TX, working primarily on the first shift with the opportunity for extension into permanent placement. This position is vital in ensuring compounded medications meet rigorous clinical, regulatory, and quality standards before reaching patients.

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Weekends as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct final clinical verification of compounded prescriptions to confirm accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Review prescription orders for dosage accuracy, patient safety, drug interactions, formulation integrity, and appropriate labeling.
• Collaborate closely with sterile and non-sterile compounding teams and pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow efficiency and quality assurance.
• Address and resolve prescription discrepancies, formulation queries, documentation issues, and medication-related concerns.
• Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to pharmacy technicians on regulatory requirements and quality expectations.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited institution.
• Active, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist License in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Minimum of 2 years licensed pharmacist experience.
• Experience in pharmacy settings involving verification of compounded prescriptions and compliance with USP <795>, USP <797>, USP <800>, DEA, HIPAA, and Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume pharmacy environments, preferably closed-door or compounding settings.

Software Experience:

• Familiarity with Lifefile pharmacy management system is required.
