Pharmacist | Spring, Texas

This opportunity is ideal for a licensed pharmacist experienced in verifying compounded medications and ensuring clinical and regulatory compliance within a pharmacy setting. The role is based in Spring, TX, with a 13-week contract to hire assignment scheduled to start ASAP. The work schedule is primarily first shift, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with occasional weekends as needed. The pharmacy utilizes Lifefile software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform final pharmacist verification of compounded prescriptions before dispensing to ensure accuracy and complete adherence to federal and state regulations.
• Review prescription orders for clinical appropriateness, dosage accuracy, patient information accuracy, drug interactions, formulation integrity, and correct labeling.
• Work collaboratively with sterile and non-sterile compounding pharmacy technicians to maintain workflow efficiency while upholding quality standards.
• Identify and resolve prescription discrepancies, documentation issues, and other medication-related concerns.
• Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to pharmacy technicians, particularly around regulatory compliance and quality expectations.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited institution.
• Active, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist License in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Minimum of 1-2 years licensed pharmacist experience, preferably in closed-door or compounding pharmacy settings.
• Familiarity with USP <795>, USP <797>, USP <800>, Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA compliance, and HIPAA requirements.
• Experience verifying prescriptions, reviewing medication orders, and ensuring patient safety prior to dispensing.
• Ability to work comfortably in a high-volume environment.
