A pharmacy role is available for a licensed pharmacist experienced with hospital central pharmacy operations, specializing in medication verification and workflow coordination. This contract position offers a dynamic evening shift, primarily focused on product verification and ensuring accuracy in medication dispensing within a hospital central pharmacy setting.

Location: Springfield, MO
Shift: Evenings, 2:30 pm - 12:30 am, working 7 days on/7 days off (Thursday through Wednesday, schedule may vary with weekly adjustments)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks, with a strong possibility of extension
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize EPIC system for dispense preparation to verify medications, kits, crash carts, prepack items, and other related products
  • Coordinate daily workflow within the central pharmacy to ensure smooth operations
  • Verify a variety of medication products including IVs, premade IVs, creams, insulin pens, and code carts for restocking accuracy
  • Oversee and manage workflow of pharmacy technicians, providing guidance and task direction as needed (without formal supervisory duties)
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff during evenings to support overall central pharmacy functioning

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Missouri Pharmacist License is required
  • Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; new graduates with relevant training and aptitude are encouraged to apply
  • Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication verification processes
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize workflow effectively during a fast-paced evening shift

Training:

  • Comprehensive training lasting 2-3 weeks will be provided, primarily focused on product verification to ensure proficiency with assigned responsibilities

Pharmacy Environment:

  • The central pharmacy team includes multiple pharmacists and technicians, with the evening pharmacist serving a key role in overseeing operations and supporting the team to maintain high-quality service
