Pharmacist in Springfield, MO

A pharmacy professional is needed for an evening shift role focused on medication verification and central pharmacy coordination. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital setting, supporting essential pharmacy operations and ensuring medication safety and accuracy using the EPIC system.

Location: Springfield, MO
Schedule/Hours:

• Evenings, 2:30 PM – 12:30 AM
• 7 days on, 7 days off (Thursday through Wednesday; hours guaranteed weekly around 36 per week)

Assignment Details:

• Contract role for 13 weeks with strong potential for extension
• Requires Missouri Pharmacist Licensure
• Open to candidates with 1+ year experience; new graduates are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize EPIC dispense prep system to verify and check medications, kits, crash carts, prepack items, and additional pharmacy products
• Coordinate workflow within the central pharmacy to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
• Verify medication products including IVs, premade IVs, creams, and insulin pens
• Confirm restocking accuracy of code carts and other emergency supplies
• Oversee the workflow of pharmacy technicians during shift, providing task direction as needed (note: this role does not include supervisory responsibilities)
• Participate in a training period of 2-3 weeks to gain proficiency in product verification processes

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Missouri Pharmacist license is required
• Minimum of one year of pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates considered
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills for coordinating with technicians and other pharmacy staff

Work Environment:
