Pharmacist in Stafford, VA

A prominent cancer center in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking an experienced Outpatient Infusion Staff Pharmacist to support its pharmacy operations. This opportunity offers the potential for contract-to-hire placement and is available immediately.

The facility is an acute care hospital with 380 staffed beds and an average daily census of 350 patients. The infusion center features 44 chairs, providing critical infusion services to oncology patients. The outpatient pharmacy team includes 2-3 pharmacists and 3 pharmacy technicians. On-call or weekend coverage will not be required, allowing for a balanced workweek.

Location: Fredericksburg, Virginia

Work Schedule:

• 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Pharmacy hours run from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• No weekend/on-call duties

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and review chemotherapy and other infused medications accurately and efficiently
• Collaborate closely with oncology providers and nursing to ensure safe, timely medication delivery
• Monitor patient responses to therapy and manage drug therapy regimens
• Utilize electronic medical records and medication dispensing systems (EPIC, Pyxis) for documentation and inventory management
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid Virginia Pharmacist license required
• Prior infusion, hospital, and chemotherapy pharmacy experience highly preferred
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
