Pharmacist in Stafford, VA

An exciting opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to support a well-established 400-bed medical center in Northern Virginia. This role involves inpatient pharmacy operations within a technologically advanced environment utilizing EPIC and Pyxis systems. The assignment begins immediately and extends for at least 13 weeks, with potential to transition into a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform inpatient order verification and ensure accuracy and compliance in medication dispensing
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient workflow
• Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff through clinical consultation
• Apply pharmacokinetics principles to optimize patient medication therapy

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current pharmacist licensure in Virginia
• Experience working in inpatient hospital pharmacy settings preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams

Schedule & Location:

• Primarily 8-hour second shifts on the contract assignment
• Facility located in Northern Virginia, near Stafford and Fredericksburg areas
