Pharmacist - Standish, CA

A healthcare facility is seeking two experienced Pharmacists for night shifts in a temporary contract role located in Standish, CA, starting no later than July 1st. This position follows a 7-on, 7-off night schedule for approximately eight weeks, providing an opportunity to support patient care in a focused, 25-bed licensed setting with an average daily census of 10.

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Provide patient consultation and clear medication information to all customers.
• Maintain working knowledge of pharmacy rules, regulations, and compliance standards.
• Receive and manage medication orders from wholesalers.
• Perform sterile compounding and reconstituting of medications.
• Manage unit dosing and ensure timely removal of medications from stock before expiration.
• Conduct thorough audits and billing processes as assigned.
• Oversee and supervise pharmacy technician staff, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
• Utilize the Cerner order entry system with provided training.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Valid pharmacist license.
• Experience with medication order verification and patient consultation.
• Familiarity with sterile compounding and medication preparation.
• Ability to manage inventory, audits, and billing within pharmacy operations.
• Leadership skills to effectively supervise pharmacy technicians.
• Willingness to learn and use Cerner order entry system.
