A healthcare facility in Susanville, CA is seeking two dedicated pharmacists to fill night shifts on a temporary contract basis. These positions involve a 7-on, 7-off night schedule over approximately eight weeks, starting no later than July 1st.

The role supports a licensed 25-bed facility with an average daily census of 10 patients. Pharmacists will utilize the Cerner order entry system, with training provided to ensure seamless integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders to ensure accuracy and patient safety
  • Provide consultation and medication information to patients and healthcare staff
  • Stay current with pharmacy laws, regulations, and institutional policies
  • Manage receipt of medication orders from wholesalers
  • Perform sterile compounding and medication reconstitution as needed
  • Conduct unit dosing and timely removal of medications to prevent expiration
  • Carry out regular audits and billing functions within the scope of licensure
  • Supervise pharmacy technician staff to maintain efficient workflow

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Active pharmacist licensure in California
  • Experience with sterile compounding and medication order verification
  • Familiarity with pharmacy laws and ability to maintain compliance
  • Ability to provide clear patient consultations and support to healthcare providers
  • Competence with electronic order entry systems; Cerner experience a plus
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to oversee pharmacy technician staff
