Pharmacist - Susanville, CA

A healthcare facility in Susanville, CA is seeking two dedicated Pharmacists to work night shifts on a temporary contract basis. This role involves supporting medication management and patient care in a smaller hospital setting with 25 licensed beds and an average daily census of 10 patients.

Schedule:

• 7 nights on, 7 nights off
• Approximately 8 weeks in duration
• Must be available to start no later than July 1

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Provide patient consultation and medication information to healthcare staff and patients
• Maintain working knowledge of pharmacy regulations and policies
• Receive medication orders from wholesalers and manage stock, including removal of expired items
• Perform sterile compounding, reconstitution, and unit dosing of medications
• Conduct pharmacy audits and assist with billing processes as required
• Supervise pharmacy technician staff to ensure efficient workflow
• Utilize the Cerner order entry system; training will be provided

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist in the state of California
• Experience with sterile compounding and medication reconstitution preferred
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations and medication safety protocols
• Ability to supervise pharmacy technicians effectively
• Proficiency or willingness to learn Cerner electronic order entry system
