We’re partnering with a large, well-established public health system to bring on pharmacists interested in long-term stability and the potential for permanent placement. Retail pharmacists are absolutely encouraged to apply—this team is open to training the right candidate into the inpatient setting. Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense medications in a hospital setting
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
- Monitor patient therapies and provide clinical recommendations
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Support medication safety initiatives and quality assurance efforts
- Provide drug information and patient counseling when needed
Work Hours
- 8-hour shifts
- Must be flexible to work days, evenings, and occasional nights
- Primarily 1st and 2nd shifts
Experience
- Retail pharmacists welcome

Strong preference for candidates with:
- PGY1 residency OR
- ~2 years of recent inpatient experience
- Ability to transition into a hospital/clinical setting
- Willingness to commit to a long-term contract
Education
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent required
Licensure & Certifications
- Active California Pharmacist license required
- Must pass a one-time competency exam (required for onboarding)
Compensation
Pay Range: $55– $65/hour
Additional Details
- On-site interview required
- Onboarding timeline: approximately 4–6 weeks
- Includes competency exam and Livescan background check
- Strong track record of pharmacists converting to permanent county roles (timeline varies)
