This per diem position offers an opportunity to support a growing pharmacy network operating multiple retail pharmacy locations in a food and pharmacy setting across the greater Phoenix area. The client is actively building a team of 2-3 pharmacists to provide coverage during peak seasonal periods, including graduations, summer vacations, and holidays. This role requires flexibility to cover call outs, vacations, and spikes in prescription volume.
Responsibilities:
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently in a retail pharmacy environment
- Utilize pharmacy systems, including QS1, to manage prescriptions and patient profiles
- Administer immunizations in accordance with state regulations and maintain immunization privileges
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and other staff; prepare to manage pharmacist-only sites as needed
- Participate in an initial 8-hour training session to ensure readiness and proficiency in client-specific protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service while adhering to regulatory and company policies
Qualifications:
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting; 5+ years preferred for top compensation consideration
- Current and unrestricted pharmacist license in Arizona
- Immunization certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) card required
- Familiarity with QS1 pharmacy software preferred
- Ability to work 2-4 days per week, particularly during busy seasonal periods
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Schedule:
- Pharmacy operations are typically Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with some locations open until 8:00 p.m.
- Shifts vary and are based on coverage needs; hours are not guaranteed
