A Managed Care Pharmacist position is available with remote Monday through Friday hours. This role requires an active pharmacist license in Oregon, Washington, or California, and a minimum of three years' experience working in a managed care environment handling prior authorizations, audits, appeals, and ALJ court hearings. Rare weekend work may be required a few times per year.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical pharmacy services by collaborating with medical directors, nurse case managers, network physicians, and other providers to deliver coordinated, evidence-based, cost-effective care to health plan members.
- Perform direct patient care through Medication Therapy Management (MTM) programs.
- Manage population-based disease management and specialty pharmaceutical acquisition.
- Conduct drug utilization reviews and support program development.
- Participate in clinical policy development and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities.
- Review pharmacy and medical claims, assess and educate members and caregivers, and develop medication-related problem lists.
- Implement medication action plans, including interventions with healthcare providers.
- Educate and consult with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and healthcare team members internally and externally.
- Develop and apply drug medical policies to promote safe, quality, and cost-effective pharmaceutical use.
Qualifications:
- Active Pharmacist License in OR, WA, or CA.
- Minimum 3 years’ managed care pharmacy experience, including prior authorizations, audits, appeals, and ALJ court hearings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively recommend therapeutic interventions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical education.
Location: Remote (with licensure in OR, WA, or CA) Schedule: Monday - Friday; rare weekends a few times per year.
