A 200-bed hospital seeks two full-time night pharmacists to support the pharmacy operations at a well-established medical center in Tucson, AZ. This contract position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal medication management and patient safety.
Location: Tucson, AZ
Schedule:
- 7 nights on, 7 nights off
- Wednesday to Tuesday rotation
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with physicians on drug selection and dosing decisions
- Educate nursing staff, patients, and physicians on medication use and safety
- Lead medication safety initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Review patient profiles to avoid and report adverse drug reactions
- Prepare IV admixtures and nutritional supplements accurately
- Maintain strict narcotic accountability
Desired Experience:
- Current pharmacist licensure valid in the state of Arizona
- Experience in hospital pharmacy settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of medication safety and clinical pharmacy practices
- Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients
- Competency in sterile product preparation and narcotic management
This 13-week contract could be converted to temporary-to-hire, offering flexibility for those interested. Immediate start is available for qualified candidates prepared to contribute to high-quality patient care on night shifts.
