A well-established 200-bed hospital in Tucson, AZ is seeking two full-time night pharmacists for a rewarding 13-week contract opportunity, with potential to transition to temp-to-hire status. This position offers an engaging role in a busy medical center known for high standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with physicians regarding drug selections and dosing protocols
- Educate nursing staff, patients, and physicians on medication usage and safety
- Lead medication safety initiatives to promote best practices
- Maintain patient profiles and ensure accuracy of medication records
- Identify, avoid, and report adverse drug reactions promptly
- Prepare intravenous admixtures and nutritional supplements following strict guidelines
- Ensure accountability and proper handling of narcotics in compliance with regulations
Schedule:
- Night shift, 7 days on followed by 7 days off
- Workweek runs Wednesday through Tuesday
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid pharmacist license and credentials in Arizona
- Proven experience in hospital pharmacy, especially in medication safety and IV admixture preparation
- Strong collaborative skills to effectively communicate with multidisciplinary teams
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accurate patient care and regulatory compliance
- Ability to work independently during night shifts
