A dynamic opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist to join a 200-bed hospital in Tucson, AZ, on a 13-week contract with potential for extension. This role offers an engaging environment focused on patient care, medication safety, and collaborative practice within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate directly with physicians regarding drug selection and dosing to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Educate nursing staff, patients, and physicians on medication therapy and safety protocols.
  • Participate in medication safety initiatives to reduce errors and enhance patient care.
  • Review patient profiles for appropriateness of medication regimens and monitor for adverse drug reactions.
  • Prepare IV admixtures, nutritional supplements, and maintain narcotic accountability in strict compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Support 2nd shift operations, ensuring continuity of pharmaceutical care.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid pharmacist license with current registration.
  • Proven experience in hospital pharmacy settings, ideally within acute care.
  • Proficiency in IV admixture preparation and narcotic control.
  • Familiarity with medication safety programs and adverse drug reaction reporting.
  • Strong communication skills for interprofessional collaboration and patient education.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Schedule:

  • 2nd shift (afternoons/days) with some flexibility to accommodate start date ASAP.
