A full-time night pharmacist position is available at a 200-bed hospital in Tucson, AZ, offering the opportunity to contribute to quality patient care in a dynamic hospital setting. This contract role involves working a 7-on, 7-off night shift schedule (Wednesday through Tuesday) with a start date as soon as possible. The 13-week assignment has the potential to convert to a temp-to-hire position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with physicians on drug selection and dosing for optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate nursing staff, patients, and physicians about medication usage and safety.
• Implement and support medication safety initiatives to prevent errors.
• Review and manage patient medication profiles to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
• Identify, avoid, and report adverse drug reactions promptly.
• Prepare intravenous (IV) admixtures and nutritional supplements according to protocol.
• Maintain strict narcotic accountability in compliance with regulations.

Desired Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist with experience in hospital-based pharmacy practice.
• Strong clinical knowledge of drug therapies and hospital formularies.
• Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on patient safety and medication accuracy.
• Experience in IV admixture preparation is highly preferred.
