A rewarding opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to take on a key role within a retail pharmacy setting in the Tularosa, NM area, with proximity to Alamogordo. This contract position offers day shifts Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with no weekend work. The initial assignment is for 13 weeks or longer, and part-time, PRN, or travel arrangements will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and mentor pharmacy personnel, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and scheduling to maintain efficient staffing levels.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, federal and state pharmacy regulations, and quality assurance procedures.
- Provide medication counseling, conduct comprehensive medication reviews, and answer customer inquiries on drug use and safety.
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including inspection, storage, and disposal of medications.
- Prepare, review, and dispense prescriptions accurately, ensuring appropriate patient profiles and medication safety.
- Maintain required documentation and licensing compliance, including continuing education and staff training.
- Promote professional development within the pharmacy team and foster a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree required.
- Current New Mexico pharmacist license.
- 1-3 years’ experience as a registered pharmacist with 1-2 years in a management role.
- Retail 340B knowledge preferred.
- Certification in APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery required.
