Located in the scenic region near Tularosa, NM, this retail pharmacist opportunity offers a rewarding 13-week or longer contract with potential for part-time, PRN, or travel work arrangements. The position is based in Alamogordo, NM, a community known for its small-town charm, rich cultural history, and proximity to outdoor adventures including hiking trails, ski resorts, and the stunning White Sands National Park.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM
  • No weekends; pharmacy closed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate pharmacy staff, managing recruitment and performance development
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding medication handling and pharmacy operations
  • Provide guidance to customers on medications, including drug interactions and proper usage
  • Conduct Comprehensive Medication Reviews and promote Medication Therapy Management (MTM) activities
  • Maintain pharmacy records, including licensure, training, and compliance documentation
  • Oversee medication storage, inventory management, and ensure removal of outdated drugs
  • Participate in pharmacy staff meetings, orientation, and continuing education programs

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree required
  • Current licensure to practice pharmacy in New Mexico
  • 1-3 years of experience as a registered pharmacist, with 1-2 years in management preferred
  • Retail 340B experience is a plus
  • APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certification required
