Pharmacist in Van Nuys, CA

A direct hire opportunity is available for a Pharmacist skilled in long-term care (LTC) and multi-dose prescription filling. This role requires a licensed pharmacist with active California licensure in good standing, proficient in the Pioneer Rx system, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of pharmaceutical care in a healthcare setting.

Location: Van Nuys, CA

Schedule:

• Every other Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Every other Sunday: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
• On non-weekend shifts: Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
• When working weekend shifts: Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active, valid California pharmacist license in good standing
• Experience with long-term care (LTC) pharmacy operations
• Skilled in multi-dose prescription filling
• Familiarity with the Pioneer Rx pharmacy system
• Strong understanding of federal and state pharmacy regulations

Responsibilities:

• Accurately dispense and verify prescriptions, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and patient safety considerations including allergies, drug interactions, and formularies
• Provide expert clinical and therapeutic recommendations to healthcare providers and patients
• Respond promptly to inquiries from healthcare professionals and client facilities
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain operational accuracy and efficiency
• Manage documentation and billing verification processes
• Receive and verify medications and supplies from suppliers, maintaining accurate records
• Organize, audit, and maintain controlled substance logs and records
• Oversee Emergency Kit contents, checking for accuracy and expiration dates
• Uphold pharmacy safety standards and participate in inspections, surveys, and audits conducted by authorized agencies
• Perform additional duties as required
