A veterinary compounding pharmacy is seeking a Staff Pharmacist eager to contribute expertise in equine or veterinary/animal compounding. This temp-to-hire position offers the opportunity to play a vital leadership role while supporting exceptional care for animal patients. Immediate start available.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support a team of 3–4 pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth daily operations
• Verify prescriptions, oversee workflow, and maintain high standards of accuracy
• Review and manage 25–30 regularly reordered formularies within the compounding pharmacy
• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality control measures
• Collaborate closely with the pharmacy team to optimize efficiency and patient care
• Provide strong leadership focused on animal health and customer satisfaction
• Assist with inventory management and operational oversight as needed

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active Pharmacist license meeting state requirements
• Proven experience in equine pharmacy or veterinary/animal compounding (human compounding alone is not sufficient)
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills with an ability to motivate and guide technicians
• High level of integrity, work ethic, and willingness to take initiative
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Commitment to following established procedures while ensuring quality care for animal patients

Pharmacy Overview:

• Specializes in veterinary/equine non-sterile compounding with some sterile preparations
• Processes approximately 200+ prescriptions daily
• Technology: PK Software, QuickBooks Online; transitioning to Pharmetica this fall
• Team comprised of 4 pharmacists each supervising 3–4 technicians
