A 9-week contract position is available for a Pharmacist located in Warner Robins, GA, with a nearby opportunity in Macon, GA, about an hour south of Atlanta. This role requires a Georgia pharmacist license and offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with possible weekend rotations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage patterns.
- Ensure medication supply complies with legal standards.
- Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy files.
- Advise patients on proper medication use, potential reactions, and answer questions.
- Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Deliver services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions according to procedures.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical supplies inventory.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, and healthcare professionals.
- Identify and communicate drug-related problems to healthcare providers.
Desired Experience:
- Retail pharmacy experience preferred but open to training qualified pharmacists.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
