A clinical pharmacy role is available that focuses on infectious diseases, providing primary and consultative services to optimize drug therapy in a specialized healthcare setting. The position offers full-time day shifts with direct hire employment status in the Warren, MI area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical pharmacy services, including participation in patient care rounds and review of medication orders for accuracy, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Perform pharmacokinetic analyses and adjust dosing regimens, ensuring therapeutic outcomes in collaboration with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Lead or support Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs (ASP), interpreting microbiology data, recommending IV-to-PO conversions, and managing therapeutic drug monitoring.
  • Participate in clinical research and scholarly activities, contributing to reports and publications.
  • Oversee and train pharmacy technical staff, residents, and students, providing educational sessions and staff development programs.
  • Participate in hospital committees related to medication use and adherence to clinical guidelines and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required; residency or fellowship training preferred.
  • One to two years of clinical pharmacy experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Registered Pharmacist with Controlled Substance licensure in Michigan within 3 months of hire.
  • PGY2 Infectious Diseases training and/or BCIDP certification preferred.
  • Strong foundation in microbiology, pharmacokinetics, and antimicrobial stewardship principles.
