Deliver expert clinical pharmacy services with a focus on infectious diseases in a dynamic healthcare environment. In this role, you will provide primary and consultative care, optimize antimicrobial therapy, and contribute to education and research initiatives, ensuring patients receive the best drug therapy outcomes. This full-time position is based in Warren, MI, offering the opportunity to impact patient care by reviewing medication orders, participating in clinical rounds, and collaborating with healthcare providers to enhance antimicrobial stewardship programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized clinical pharmacy services in infectious diseases, including medication order review and pharmacokinetic dosing adjustments.
- Lead or support antimicrobial stewardship initiatives to optimize antibiotic use and reduce resistance.
- Collaborate with physicians, microbiology, infection prevention, and nursing teams to manage complex infections and therapeutic drug monitoring.
- Educate healthcare professionals and pharmacy students through training, lectures, and precepting.
- Participate in clinical research, medication use evaluations, adverse drug reaction monitoring, and policy development.
- Oversee and mentor pharmacy staff, interns, and residents within the specialty.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and contribute to committee activities.
Desired Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree; completion of residency or fellowship preferred.
- 1-2 years of clinical pharmacy experience in a healthcare setting, with a preference for PGY2 infectious diseases training.
- Registered Pharmacist with Controlled Substance licensure in Michigan (to be obtained within 3 months of hire).
- Board certification in Infectious Diseases Pharmacy (BCIDP) preferred.
- Strong expertise in microbiology, pharmacokinetics, and antimicrobial stewardship.
