A travel pharmacist opportunity is available at a 25-bed critical access hospital serving a diverse patient population including emergency, labor and delivery, and medical-surgical units. This role is ideal for a pharmacist seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment with limited oncology exposure.
Responsibilities include:
- Dispensing and reviewing medications for 10-12 patients daily using Cerner EMR
- Managing medication inventory with Pyxis systems
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in emergency, labor and delivery, and med-surg settings
- Ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements
- Providing excellent patient counseling and drug information
Schedule and hours:
- Monday through Sunday, working 7 days on followed by 7 days off
- Monday to Friday: 5:30 am to 4:00 pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 5:30 am to 2:00 pm
Desired Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist with experience in hospital pharmacy practice
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems preferred
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a critical access hospital setting
- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach
