This pharmacist role offers an opportunity to deliver precise, safe, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care and drug distribution services to patients. You will work either directly or indirectly through supportive staff to ensure high-quality medication management aligned with clinical and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately interpret and dispense physician drug orders while providing pharmaceutical distribution services.
- Review patient medical and pharmaceutical records to monitor drug therapy, manage interactions, adverse reactions, allergies, and contraindications.
- Administer immunizations in compliance with certification requirements.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient drug therapy.
- Prepare, compound, dispense, and sell prescriptions and related pharmacy products.
- Provide thorough counseling and education to patients.
- Monitor storage, distribution, and utilization of pharmaceuticals ensuring safety and compliance.
- Document and report medication errors promptly.
- Oversee prescription processing activities to maintain quality and compliance standards.
- Maintain records of controlled substances according to regulatory requirements.
- Assist in supervising pharmacy personnel and monitoring performance.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Adhere strictly to all applicable laws, regulations, and company values.
- Perform other duties as assigned with consistent attendance.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy school with an active pharmacist license in Iowa.
- Current certifications necessary for specialized services such as Basic Cardiac Life Support and Immunization.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
- Analytical abilities to address and resolve challenges efficiently.
- Continuous commitment to uphold professional technical knowledge and regulatory compliance.
