A rehabilitation hospital in Wausau, WI, is seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join their pharmacy team for afternoon and evening coverage. This contract opportunity is ideal for a professional with strong clinical skills who is ready to contribute to a focused and supportive work environment.

Schedule:

  • Approximately 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM (hours negotiable)
  • 40 hours per week
  • Shared weekend, after-hours, and on-call coverage with pharmacy manager

Position Overview:
This role supports a 30-bed rehab hospital with an average daily census of 28 patients. The pharmacy operates from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily. You will be part of a small, dedicated team consisting of two pharmacists and one technician. The pharmacy utilizes Wellsky as its information system and Pyxis for medication automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct pharmacist staffing in the afternoon and evening shifts
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy manager to cover weekends, after-hours, and on-call duties
  • Accurately dispense medications and oversee pharmacy operations during your shift
  • Perform limited IV compounding (no chemotherapy involved) maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy
  • Utilize remote order entry support during after-hours with backup on-call pharmacist coverage

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Valid pharmacist license and relevant experience
  • Proficiency with IV compounding
  • Experience with hospital pharmacy operations and relevant technology systems such as Wellsky and Pyxis
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small pharmacy team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
