Pharmacist in West Chester, PA

An opportunity is available for a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) / Pharmacy Director at a specialized 503A compounding pharmacy. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and compliant execution of prescription fulfillment and sterile/non-sterile compounding operations. The position requires full regulatory accountability under state and federal laws, FDA 503A, and USP standards. You will lead daily operations including quality systems, environmental monitoring, personnel training, and ensure facility readiness.

Location: Kennett Square, PA
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm
• Flexible availability on Saturdays if needed
  Term: 13-week contract with potential for permanent hire

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the legally designated PIC for all non-resident state pharmacy licenses.
• Act as the primary liaison with Boards of Pharmacy, inspectors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of operational or ownership changes, and PIC transitions.
• Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding operations ensuring compliance and quality assurance.
• Lead and supervise pharmacists, compounding supervisors, pharmacy technicians, and production staff.
• Manage daily batch record creation, review, and approval processes.
• Support production scheduling to meet on-time delivery goals, inventory management, and capacity planning.

Qualifications:

• Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License is required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager.
• In-depth knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, and applicable state/federal regulations governing 503A compounding operations.
• Proven experience in leading audits and managing regulatory inspections successfully.
