A growing closed-door Long Term Care pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to support their expanding control room operations in the Columbus, OH area. This direct hire position offers a unique opportunity to work with controlled substances in a specialized environment focused on providing high-quality medication management to long-term care facilities.
Location: Westerville, OH
Type: Direct Hire
Shift: 4 PM – 12:30 AM, Monday through Friday, every other weekend
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and evaluate medication orders, ensuring appropriate drug selection, dosage, and administration while monitoring for interactions
- Make informed recommendations for therapy adjustments to physicians and facility staff
- Maintain comprehensive patient records, including medical history, clinical data, and laboratory information
- Investigate and resolve medication-related inquiries promptly and effectively
- Collaborate closely with nursing staff, physicians, and healthcare team members to support patient care
- Supervise the preparation and dispensing of medications in compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate controlled drug registers and ensure strict stock control
- Uphold security standards for medication storage and handling
- Provide “on-call” pharmacy support as needed
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Ohio Pharmacist license in-hand is required
- Proven experience working with controlled substances (narcotics) in a pharmacy setting
- Strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Frameworks pharmacy system preferred
