Exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist with expertise in controlled substances within a growing closed-door Long Term Care pharmacy setting. This direct hire role is based in the Columbus area, serving the needs of a specialized pharmacy operation expanding its site capabilities.
Location: Columbus, OH
Type: Direct Hire
Schedule:
- 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM, Monday through Friday
- Every other weekend required
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio pharmacist license (required at start)
- Proven experience managing controlled drugs, including narcotics
- Strong knowledge in evaluating medication orders for drug appropriateness, dosage accuracy, and potential interactions
- Experience with the Frameworks system or similar pharmacy management software preferred
Core Responsibilities:
- Review medication orders, ensuring safety and compliance with therapeutic protocols
- Collaborate directly with physicians and nursing staff to recommend therapy modifications when necessary
- Maintain detailed patient medication histories, clinical data, and laboratory records
- Address and resolve medication-related inquiries from healthcare team members
- Ensure legal compliance and stock control by maintaining accurate controlled drug registers
- Oversee medication preparation and secure storage of all pharmaceutical products
- Participate in “on-call” rotations as assigned, supporting urgent clinical needs
