Exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist with expertise in controlled substances within a growing closed-door Long Term Care pharmacy setting. This direct hire role is based in the Columbus area, serving the needs of a specialized pharmacy operation expanding its site capabilities.

Location: Columbus, OH
Type: Direct Hire
Schedule:

  • 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM, Monday through Friday
  • Every other weekend required

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Ohio pharmacist license (required at start)
  • Proven experience managing controlled drugs, including narcotics
  • Strong knowledge in evaluating medication orders for drug appropriateness, dosage accuracy, and potential interactions
  • Experience with the Frameworks system or similar pharmacy management software preferred

Core Responsibilities:

  • Review medication orders, ensuring safety and compliance with therapeutic protocols
  • Collaborate directly with physicians and nursing staff to recommend therapy modifications when necessary
  • Maintain detailed patient medication histories, clinical data, and laboratory records
  • Address and resolve medication-related inquiries from healthcare team members
  • Ensure legal compliance and stock control by maintaining accurate controlled drug registers
  • Oversee medication preparation and secure storage of all pharmaceutical products
  • Participate in “on-call” rotations as assigned, supporting urgent clinical needs
