Pharmacist - Whittier, California

A full-time night shift pharmacist is needed to begin Monday night, May 11th, for at least an eight-week assignment at a healthcare facility with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44 patients. This position is a critical role due to a Pyxis system crisis and a state mandate requiring a pharmacist during the night shift.

Schedule:

• Full-time hours, primarily Monday through Friday
• 8-hour night shifts with some flexibility

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Oversee pharmacy technicians to maintain smooth operations
• Collaborate closely with nurses and physicians, providing expert pharmacy consultation
• Manage pharmacokinetics services as needed
• Work with Paragon/Allscripts order entry system
• Handle automated dispensing cabinets using Pyxis technology

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid pharmacist license and compliance with Soliant’s credentialing standards (must be ready to start quickly)
• Open to new graduates and retail pharmacists willing to transition
• Experience or familiarity with Pyxis automated dispensing systems preferred
• Ability to work independently during night shifts and respond to urgent pharmacy needs
