Pharmacist in Whittier, CA

A full-time night shift pharmacist position is available starting Monday night, 5/11. This role focuses on providing essential pharmacy services during the overnight hours to address an urgent need related to Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets and compliance with CDPH regulations.

The schedule consists primarily of Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts, with some scheduling flexibility. This assignment is expected to last at least 8 weeks, supporting pharmacy operations at a 117-licensed-bed facility with an average daily census of 44 patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently.
• Oversee pharmacy technician activities to ensure smooth workflow.
• Collaborate with nurses and physicians to optimize patient care.
• Apply pharmacokinetics principles when reviewing medication regimens.
• Utilize the Paragon/Allscripts order entry system for documentation.
• Operate Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets, maintaining compliance and efficiency.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active pharmacist license.
• Eligible new graduates and retail pharmacy experience welcome.
• Must meet Soliant compliance requirements for rapid onboarding.
• Comfortable working night shifts and emergency response situations.
