Join a dynamic healthcare setting in Williamston, NC, as a Pharmacist specializing in long-term care. This contract role offers the unique opportunity to engage in comprehensive pharmacy services with potential for contract-to-hire transition. The position starts ASAP for a 13-week duration, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., including rotating weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Monitor patient medication adherence and detect over-usage patterns.
- Provide expert consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Educate patients on proper medication use and handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Deliver patient services like smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
- Compound medications for both internal and external use, and prepare sterile solutions using proper protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks, maintaining efficient pharmacy operations.
- Maintain precise and confidential patient records, pharmacy files, and manage pharmaceutical inventory.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist with a current NC pharmacy license.
- Experience in retail pharmacy is welcome; willingness to train retail pharmacists is provided.
- Familiarity with PV1 and PV2 duties advantageous.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Rotating weekends required.
