A pharmacy opportunity is available in Washington, NC, about two hours east of Raleigh, offering a 13-week contract with the potential to transition to a permanent position based on performance. This role provides a dynamic environment that combines patient care with supervisory responsibilities, ideal for retail pharmacists ready to expand their clinical expertise with PV1 and PV2 duties.

Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday – Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM; rotating weekends

Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and responsibly.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify any over-usage patterns to support safe dispensing.
• Ensure all medications are supplied within legal guidelines and are appropriate for patients’ conditions.
• Maintain confidential and up-to-date patient records and pharmacy files.
• Advise patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and respond to medication-related inquiries.
• Provide consultation on prescription and OTC medications, covering storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
• Offer patient services like smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound and prepare sterile medications for internal and external use, adhering to procedural standards.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, ensuring efficient daily operations.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify drug-related problems and optimize patient care.

Desired Qualifications:

• NC pharmacist license required and must be in hand.
• Open to retail pharmacists; training provided for PV1 and PV2 duties.
