A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist in North Carolina seeking a rewarding contract-to-hire role. This position offers a 13-week contract with the potential for permanent placement based on performance, providing stability and career growth within a supportive healthcare setting.

Location:

  • Washington, North Carolina (approximately 2 hours east of Raleigh) Schedule:
  • Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and identify overuse.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer inquiries.
  • Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medicines, including storage and drug interactions.
  • Offer patient-centered services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on medical device usage, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory and supplies effectively.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related problems.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current North Carolina pharmacist license is required.
  • Open to retail pharmacists with a willingness to learn and adapt to the clinical pharmacy environment.
  • Ability to supervise and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
