A central inpatient pharmacy requires a skilled Pharmacist to support clinical operations at a small 40-bed hospital in northern central Wisconsin. This role offers a flexible and varied schedule option, perfect for professionals seeking dynamic work environments with diverse patient care responsibilities.

Location: Northern Central Wisconsin (Wisconsin Rapids area)
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks minimum)
Start: ASAP
Schedule Options:

  • Four 10-hour shifts per week (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.), rotating weekends
  • Alternatively, a 7 days on / 7 days off day shift block schedule

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple concurrent duties in a central inpatient pharmacy setting
  • Verify EPIC medication orders accurately and efficiently
  • Review and check technician work to ensure compliance and safety
  • Respond to pharmacist phone calls and provide clinical guidance
  • Prepare and dispense inpatient and outpatient intravenous medications, including chemotherapy
  • Handle inpatient unit dose medications and outpatient chemotherapy administration
  • Support diverse clinical areas including Med/Surg, OB/GYN, ICU, outpatient oncology, emergency department, and surgery cases
  • Manage medication distribution for an inpatient census averaging 30 to 40 patients

Desired Experience:

  • Licensed Pharmacist with inpatient pharmacy experience
  • Proficient in EPIC or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Experience with chemotherapy preparation and oncology pharmacy services a plus
