This position offers the opportunity to work as a Pharmacist in a dynamic small hospital setting in Northern Central Wisconsin. The 40-bed facility provides comprehensive patient care across multiple specialties including Med/Surg, OB/GYN, ICU, outpatient oncology, ED, and surgery services. This contract role is ideal for pharmacists who are skilled in managing a variety of pharmacy operations within an inpatient central pharmacy environment.
Schedule options include either four 10-hour day shifts per week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with rotating weekends or a 7-on/7-off day shift block schedule. This flexibility supports work-life balance while allowing you to focus on clinical services during your assigned time. The expected start date is ASAP for a duration of approximately 13 weeks or longer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage multiple concurrent pharmacy responsibilities including verifying EPIC orders and reviewing technician work.
- Provide accurate dispensing of inpatient and outpatient intravenous medications, inpatient unit dose medications, and outpatient chemotherapy.
- Support pharmacy operations for an average inpatient census of 30-40 patients across a variety of acute and outpatient care settings.
- Respond professionally to pharmacist phone calls and collaborate across clinical departments to ensure safe medication use.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist with current credentials to practice.
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system preferred.
- Experience in inpatient central pharmacy roles, including medication verification and verification processes.
- Capability to handle responsibilities within a fast-paced hospital environment.
