A specialized opportunity is available for a Pharmacist skilled in outpatient infusion, supporting a cancer center within an acute care hospital setting in Fredericksburg, VA. This role offers the potential to transition from contract to permanent placement and is designed for professionals seeking to contribute directly to patient care in oncology.

Location: Fredericksburg, VA

Schedule/Hours:

• 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Pharmacy operation hours: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• No on-call or weekend coverage required

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and dispense medications for outpatient infusion, specifically chemotherapy agents
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal pharmaceutical care within the cancer center
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems efficiently for medication management and documentation
• Maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory standards in dispensing and handling of drugs
• Support outpatient pharmacy staff functions alongside pharmacists and technicians

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Virginia Pharmacist license is mandatory
• Experience in infusion pharmacy, hospital settings, and chemotherapy preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently within a specialized team

• Acute care hospital with 380 staffed beds and an average daily census of 350 patients
• Outpatient infusion area includes 44 infusion chairs
• The pharmacy team includes 2-3 pharmacists and 3 technicians, fostering a collaborative environment
