Pharmacist in Yatahey, NM

A Pharmacist role is available in Yatahey, NM for a contract assignment. This position involves managing pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate medication dispensing, and supporting clinical drug therapy management. The Pharmacist will also provide critical drug information to healthcare staff and may assume leadership duties in the Pharmacy Director's absence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare, label, and dispense medications, including parenterals and IV solutions.
• Monitor patient drug therapies for safety and effectiveness across all age groups.
• Provide drug education to physicians, nurses, and patients, supporting clinical protocols.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory and transactional records in compliance with legal standards.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and participate in formulary and dispensing system management.
• Serve on Rapid Response Teams and support emergency code situations as needed.
• Complete annual competency evaluations and engage in continuing education.
• Adhere to compliance programs, reporting any unethical practices.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration with healthcare team members.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
• BS in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
• Current, active New Mexico pharmacy license.
• 1–2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations considered.
• Strong clinical pharmacology knowledge and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage clinical decisions with attention to detail.
• Leadership abilities and proficiency with pharmacy information systems and automated dispensing technology.
• Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent use of hands for medication preparation and typing.
