Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately following physician orders and institutional protocols.
• Interpret both verbal and written prescriptions and maintain up-to-date computerized medication profiles.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements when issuing controlled substances and maintain detailed records.
• Monitor patient drug therapies for potential adverse effects, interactions, and appropriateness of dosage.
• Provide clinical consultations to healthcare providers regarding optimal medication use and cost-effective alternatives.
• Document all clinical interventions thoroughly.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medication use reviews.
• Supervise and verify activities of pharmacy support personnel and assist in their performance appraisals.
• Conduct regular medication storage inspections, ensuring the removal of expired or unusable drugs.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions, including patient and provider communications.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Louisiana Pharmacist license required.
• Licensure in at least five additional states, preferably including DC, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, or Wyoming.
• Minimum of 10 state licenses expected within 18 months of employment.
• Prior experience in retail or hospital pharmacy settings.
• Strong knowledge of medication therapy management protocols and compliance standards.
